Stateland purchased two parcels of land, being 3.3 hectares and 4.8 hectares, both strategically located on the Captain Cook Highway and positioned opposite a large regional shopping centre in Smithfield north of Cairns.

Site 1 – 3.3 hectares

This integrated commercial development resulted in a number of tenants and owner occupiers being identified, including Hungry Jacks. A convenience centre was also designed and tenants secured including Pizza Hut. Stateland also identified a range of retailers including the Warehouse Group and then proceeded to secure leases and design new premises to suit the users. The project was then on-sold. Various other retail outlets were established, including Mitre 10.

Site 2 – 4.8 hectares

Stateland purchased the land occupied by a tourism operation in a tourist zone. A marketing program was undertaken which resulted in Bunnings Warehouse Group expressing an interest in the subject property. Stateland then managed the process of re-zoning of the land from tourism to commercial and the development gained town planning approval. The land was then sold to Bunnings.
